BARTOW - Mr. Wendell C. Alderman passed away from cancer Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at his home in Bartow. He was 69.
Born May 1, 1938 in Moultrie, GA, Mr. Alderman has been a local resident for the passed 24 years. Mr. Alderman was a retired Air Force veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. During his service, he also worked in the space program for several years. After his service, Mr. Alderman worked as an electronic technician for Dictaphone Inc. out of Tampa, serving the Polk County Courthouse along with other local businesses. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post #2420 of Lake Wales.
Mr. Alderman is preceded in death by his son, Joey Alderman. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Margaret Alderman, six daughters; Gail Pitts (Ralph) of Bartow, Eileen Strickland of Orlando, Donna Lawson (Bill) of Bartow, Jackie Futch (Bill) of Polk City, Karen Carter (Matt) of Valrico, and Betty Anne Salas (Tony) of Lady Lake. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Alderman will be Friday June 22, 2007 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Whidden-Mclean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street, Bartow. Services will be held Saturday June 23, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home chapel. Condolences may be sent to www.whiddenmcleanfuneralhome.com

Although, I did not know Mr. Alderman personally; I as well as our church Green Pond Baptist have been praying for him to be free of pain & suffering. He is now according to his daughter Jackie Futch, she is a wonderful lady. We love you Jackie & Bill, may God richley bless you & your family
