LAKELAND - William McKinley Glass, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 26th at the Consulate Health Care in Lakeland, FL due to complications from Parkinson's.
William was born June 22, 1929 in Lucille, GA to McKinley and Mattie (McCullers) Glass. He moved to Lakeland in 1952 after serving in the Korean War as a staff sergeant with the combat engineers. He worked in construction before beginning in 1956 a 32 year career at Publix then retiring in 1988. William enjoyed anything involving family. He built a beautiful log cabin in NC where family and friends gathered for many vacations and then later purchased lake property in South Georgia.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Eloise, his son Randal Glass and daughter Don-na (Harry) Clark; granddaughter Halie Clark, grandsons Trevor (Liz) Clark, Tyler (Stacy) Clark and Derek (Heather) Glass and great grandchildren Kody and Pailyn Glass and Evan and Ellie Clark all of Lakeland, FL.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Northside Chapel with funeral services to follow at 3:00 pm.
