WINTER HAVEN - Phillip E. Mitchell, loving husband, devoted father, and proud Poppy of Winter Haven, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Kindred Hospital in Tampa from complications of meningitis. He was 59.
A native of Mobile Alabama, born September 10, 1952, Phillip moved here in 1988 from Montgomery, AL. He worked for the City of Lakeland Motor Pool, and he liked his scotch & cigars! He was also an avid Roll Tide Fan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Linda C. Mitchell of Winter Haven; his daughter Amanda Nelson and her husband Kevin of Endicott, NY; his sister: Sue Wilkerson of Mobile, AL; his brother Ricky Turner of Hagerstown, MD; and his sister Carolyn Schnur of Maryland. Phillip also has three adorable grandchildren: Victoria, Amber & Daniel Nelson.
