LAKELAND - Mr. Council Audubon Brown passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012 at his home due to heart failure.
Mr. Brown was born January 31, 1932 in Lakeland, Fl to Audubon and Lela Brown. He was a self-employed rancher, real estate broker and owned Brown's Auto Sales for 25 years. Mr. Brown attended the University of Florida prior to enlisting in the U.S. Army. He was senior class president and co-captain of the football team at Kathleen High School, where he graduated in 1948. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and Kathleen Historical Society.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by five siblings, James H. P. Brown, Clyde W. Brown, twin infant sisters and an infant brother. Survivors include his daughter, Sharon (Scott) Laird of Tampa, Fl and two sons, Lex (Deanna) Brown of Lakeland, Fl and Steven Brown of Orlando, Fl; sister, Sabrina Hall; brother, Glen Brown; and two granddaughters, Andrea Becker and Ashley Brown.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Gentry-Morrison Northside Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Good Shepard Hospice 320 W. Main Street, Lakeland, Fl 33815.
