JULIET SUMMERS
DANIEL, 71
CENTREVILLE, VA. - Juliet Summers Daniel, 71, formerly of Lakeland, FL, and Thornville, OH, passed away on June 13, 2012 due to multiple complications caused by polyarteritis nodosa. Even though this disease limited her ability to walk and destroyed her vision, she stayed positive and independent up until the last year of her life.
Born in Charleston, WV, Julie was a 1958 graduate of St. Albans High School (WV). She loved gardening, sewing, horseback riding, photography, computing, scrapbooking and dancing. In her early years, she worked as a legal secretary in Orlando. Returning to WV, then OH, she owned and operated stables in both states, boarding horses and providing riding lessons. She also ran a successful wedding photography business in OH. Returning to FL, the state she loved so much, she dedicated many hours of volunteer work to charitable fundraising for organizations such as the Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and worked as an administrative assistant.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Douglass of VA and Kelley Daniel; four grandchildren, Sean and Shannon Douglass of VA, Bridget Trice of AZ, and Dina Antonelos; and three sisters, Brenda George and Diane Sorgi, both of FL, and Shelia Beam of OH.
A memorial reception for family and friends to honor her life will be held at the home of her daughter, Susan Douglass, in Centreville, VA, on July 1st, 1 to 4 p.m. She will be missed by the many who loved her.
