LAKELAND - On July 17, 2012, God called Juanita J. Henderson to transition with him. She died due to respiratory arrest.
She was born Feb. 12, 1931 in Cottondale, FL. At an early age, she joined Salem AME Church (Graceville, FL, before moving to Plant City where she joined Allen Chapel AME Church). During the 1960's, she resided in Lakeland where she was a member of New Bethel AME Church where she remained a faithful member until her health failed.
As a homemaker, she loved cooking and sewing. She leaves precious memories with her loving & devoted husband of 61 years, Theodore Henderson; 3 children, Carolyn H. (Rev. Dr. Henry L.) Simmons, Willie Ted Henderson, and Sheila A. (Army Retired Major Alfred) Knight; three sisters, five grandchildren, one great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.
Visitation is Friday, 5-7 pm at Oldham Funeral Chapel and Funeral Service is Saturday, 11 am at Mt. Moriah M.B. Church, 902 E. Alabama Street, Plant City, FL, 33563.
