LAKELAND - Myron Morris, age 89, passed away due to respiratory failure on July 26, 2012.
Mr. Morris was born on July 9, 1923, in Rush County, IN. He came to Lakeland in 1964 from Plainfield, Wisconsin. He was employed at Florida Tile and later drove a bus for the Lakeland Tigers during the time Jim Leland was manager for the team. He also drove a tour bus for Central Florida Transit and was a WWII Army veteran. He loved gardening, fishing, and traveling in his motor home. He was a member of New Testament Baptist Church.
He was predeceased by his parents Carl and Letha Morris of Glenwood, Indiana; two sons, Robert and Orville Morris of Rushville, IN; twin brother, Marion Morris of Lakeland. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Juanita; sister, Marjorie Fuller of Connersville, IN; daughter, Carolyn Gipson of Green Bay, WI; son, James Morris of Walnut, CA; step-daughter, Becky Stoff (Steve); and two grandsons Geoffrey (Kristen) and Andrew Stoff of Lakeland.
Friends will be received Monday from 10-11am at the Lakeland Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 11am. Interment will take place in Lakeland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to either Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Palliative Care Unit or to Kathleen Baptist Church.
