PARKERSBURG, W.V. - Ruth Anne Hopkins, 80, of Parkersburg, WV passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio on August 5, 2012, due to respiratory failure.
She was born in Parkersburg, WV on November 5, 1931, a daughter of the late Guy E. and Mildred Prince Bailey.
Ruth Anne retired from Montgomery Wards where she had worked in the catalog department for many years. In retirement, she and her husband enjoyed many years wintering in Florida. She was a member of the Lubeck United Methodist Church where she had served as music director for several years.
She is survived by two sons Jeffrey Allen Hopkins and wife Barbara of Parkersburg and Christopher H. Hopkins and wife Shawna of Washington, five grandchildren Ian, Brooke, Chris, Annamariah, & Rhett Hopkins, two great grandchildren Hannah & Will Hopkins, sisters Helen Davis of Falls Church, VA, Donna Bauman of Vienna and brother John Bailey of Xenia, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, Ruth Anne was preceded in death by her husband of almost 58 years Robert G. Hopkins Jr. and brother Robert Bailey.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday at the Lubeck United Methodist Church with Pastors James Martin and Rick Brown officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 - 2 on Sunday at the Church prior to the service.
The family has requested memorials be made to the Lubeck United Methodist Church in Ruth Anne's memory.
