WINTER HAVEN - Paul Zumpft, 93, of Winter Haven, Fl passed away on September 18, 2012 of natural causes.
He was born in Spartansburg, PA on August 29, 1919, Paul lived in Conneaut, OH and retired after 44 years from the City of Conneaut. He moved to Winter Haven in 1984. He is a member of New Leaf United Methodist Church in Conneaut and attended Lucerne Baptist Church in Winter Haven. Paul was a WW II veteran serving 4 1/2 years from 1941-1945. He served in the Pacific Theater where he received the Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star. He is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2420, Lake Wales, FL and a member of American Legion Post 8 in Winter Haven.
Mr. Zumpft is predeceased by his parents; sister, Beatrice Oehlen-schlager and brothers, Charles and Herbert Zumpft. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Crandall) Zumpft; daughter, Bonnie (Ronald) Salo of Youngstown, OH; granddaughters, Kelly (Salo) Richard Remias of Columbus, OH, Kris (Salo) Brian Davis of Millersville, MD; great grandson, Brady Remias and great granddaughter, Abby Remias of Columbus, OH.
A memorial service will be Saturday, 9/22/12 at 11 am at Lucerne Baptist Church. Memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823 or Lucerne Baptist Church 5650 SR 544 E, Winter Haven, FL 33881. Please no flowers.
