US Army Veteran

LAKELAND - John H. Winter, 78, of Lakeland, passed away on Nov. 23, 2012 due to Dimentia.
Mr. Winter was born in Detroit, MI, graduated from Litchfield High School in 1954, entered the US Army, and served until 1958, and after discharge, he moved to Lakeland. He was a retired production worker with Ashland Chemical Co, makers of fiberglass resin.
He was a member of Gibsonia Church of God, The National Guard, and the US Army Reserve.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nell; a son, John Michael Winter and Debbie; two daughters, Pamela Crews and husband Kenny, and Michele Moriarty and husband Daniel; a brother, Art Winter and wife Nancy; two sisters, June Court, and Eleanor Lewis (Jim); six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Craig, and a sister, Pearl Kehoe.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 11:00 am at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 5245 US 98 N., with burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery. Friends are invited to the visitation on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
