MULBERRY - Nelson F. Deming, age 90, passed away August 27, 2013 at L.R.M.C. of heart failure.
He was born in Michigan City, Indiana, October 9, 1922 to the late O.C. Deming and Emma Umlauf Deming. He was married to Dorothy C. Gilbert, at Anderson, Indiana, May 21, 1949, where they lived until 1952, then moved to Michigan City. They moved to Mulberry, via St. Petersburg in 1993. Mr. Deming retired from American Cyanamid Co., Michigan City in 1987, after 35 years of service as Purchasing Manager. He and Mrs. Deming were members of Southwind Immanuel Church Michigan City, and assumed many congregational responsibilities during their 40 years there. They were also members of Scott Lake Baptist Church and Trinity Baptist Church of Lakeland, FL. Mr. Deming was a member of the Gideons International, severing in local and State offices. He also was a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose 980, and a life member of the Purchasing Agents of America.
Mr. Deming is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Deming and sister Mrs. William Mahl. He is survived by his son David N. Deming of Mulberry, daughter Debra D. Cady of Menomonie, WI., two grandsons, two great granddaughters and one great grandson, all of Michigan City.
Visitation will be Friday August 30, 2013 from 5:00-6:00 P.M. at Seigler Funeral Home-Hwy. 60 E. Mulberry. Funeral service to follow at 6:00 P.M. Interment will be in Michigan City, IN.
