Metro-Dade Co. District Fire Chief

LAKELAND - Mr. Harold B. Rogers, age 82, died of respiratory failure Monday (January 27, 2014).
He was born March 17, 1931, in South Carolina. He was a retired district fire chief in Metro-Dade County, and a member of the International Fire Fighters Union 1403. He was a USMC Korean War veteran. Mr. Rogers loved fishing, skeet shooting, wood working, travel, spoiling his wives and granddaughters, and spending time with family. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his father Clarence Benjamin Rogers; mother Edna Rogers; wife Norma Jean Rogers; and brother James Rogers. He is survived by his wife Barbara Rogers, Lakeland; sons Dr. Kenneth (Jill) Rogers, Winter Haven, Richard Rogers, Oakland, FL; granddaughters Sarah Rogers, Clearwater, FL, Amanda (Adam) Livesay, Largo, FL, April Rogers, Atlanta, GA; companion, his little Muff.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, 1/31/14, at Lanier Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, 2/1/14 at Christ Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery.
