BARTOW - James E. Glisson, 65, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Winter Haven Hospital of heart failure.
Born September 3, 1948 in Donalsonville, GA, Mr. Glisson was a resident of Bartow for most of his life, moving from Georgia. He was a Vietnam Army veteran. He was a Supervisor for IMC Phosphate for 37 years. He was a member of the Bartow American Legion Post 3 and the Winter Haven VFW Post. He attended the Turning Point Worship Center, Bartow.
Mr. Glisson is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janet R Glisson, Bartow; daughter, Celena Lee, Fort Meade; brother, Danny Glisson, Auburndale; sister, Linda Marple, Bartow; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren & many nieces & nephews.
Family will receive friends Friday, February 21, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Turning Point Worship Center, Bartow. Interment with military honors will be held at Gandy Cemetery, Connersville.
