FROSTPROOF - Thomas E. Davis, 73, of Frostproof, Florida, passed away Wednesday August 6, 2014, at his residence due to heart failure.
He was born July 3, 1941, to the late William Arthur and Ethel Schnider Davis. He has been a resident of the area since coming to Frostproof with his family as a child. He was the Owner/Operator of Thomas E. Davis Inc. and Davis Brothers Inc. He attended Florida Southern College and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Frostproof. Mr. Davis was active in the community and served as past President of the Frostproof Lions Club, he sponsored a Little League Baseball team for many years and loved spending time with his beloved dog, Jake.
He is preceded in death by his grandson Carl Brent Davis II.
Survivors include his wife of over 50 years Sandra Davis of Frostproof; daughter Sonia Davis Skinner and husband Buddy of Frostproof, FL.; sons Thomas E. 'Ted' Davis and wife Linda of Frostproof, FL., Keith 'Bubba' Davis of Frostproof, FL., Brent Davis and wife Linda of Frostproof, FL., sister Mary Ann Pressley and husband Robert of Frostproof, FL., 2 grandchildren Luke and Jake, 1 niece Marci and nephew Clay.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Highlands County Humane Society at 7321 Haywood Taylor Blvd. Sebring, FL., 33876.
There will be a private family service with interment at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
