HARVEY
JACKSON 'JACK' AKINS, Jr.

LAKELAND - Harvey Jackson 'Jack' Akins, Jr., born 11-4-36; died 9-11-18.
Jack Akins was a Lakeland native and a graduate from Lakeland Senior High School. He served under the 1st Cavalry Division of the Army, which is one of the most decorated divisions of the US Army. He also played Baseball (infield) with the 1st Cavalry Baseball Team in Japan. He later played a few years with the Philadelphia Phillies Baseball Organization. He was a local Realtor/Broker and a LOVER of ALL Sports.
He is preceded in death by Harvey Akins, father; Lela Akins, mother; Annie Laurie Lanier, sister.
He is survived by Troy Akins, son; Leslie Askew Freeman, daug-hter; Ronnie Akins, brother; Gail Ulrey, sister; and Tonya Lanier Farinella, special niece and six grandchildren and many beloved friends.
A private family service will be held on Thursday 9-13-18 @ 11am @ Good Shepherd Hospice, Lakeland FL.
