Publix Super Markets

LAKELAND - Leona R. Miller, age 92, lost a valiant fight against Alzheimer's on May 15, 2009. She died peacefully at her home in the company of her loving family and the caregivers that loved her and stood by her, steadfast and faithful, for so many years. Lee died the way she lived, with dignity and grace.
She was born on Christmas Eve, in Aurora, Illinois, 1916. Her family later moved to Chicago, where she met her husband, George Miller. They were married in 1939 and were married for 56 years until his death on May 15, 1994. Lee and George were blessed with three children: Don Miller (Martha) of Clearwater Beach, Linda Waller (Bob) of Lakeland, and Bob Miller (Susan) of Denver, CO; five grandchildren, Teresa and Susan Miller, Becky Waller Ellison, Jimmy Waller and Brian Waller; and seven great grandchildren, Jared, George, Julianne, Brooke, Jack, Morgan and Addison. She is also survived by her loving sister, Lillian Ward of Lakeland and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In 1952, Lee began her long and happy career with Publix Super Markets. She worked in the accounting department in the Home Office for 36 years where she eventually became the assistant manager. She was a loved and valued employee and made many life long friends.
She was a member of both St. Joseph's Catholic Church and The Church of the Resurrection until she could no longer attend. She lived her faith everyday of her life and inspired all that knew her by her quiet example. She was loved by many and will be missed by All.
Funeral services will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 9:00AM.
Arrangements are being handled by Central Florida Casket Store & Funeral Chapel, 2090 East Edgewood Drive, Lakeland, FL.
