LAKELAND - Mrs. Shirley June Browning, age 83, died of cancer Wednesday (Nov. 4, 2009).
She was born in Gillett, AR., on Oct. 21, 1926. She was an operator of Longboat Key Pass Drawbridge. She was a Prayer Warrior and a member of Family Worship Center. Mrs. Browning graduated from Gillette High School in 1944 and attended Trevecca Bible College in Nashville, TN.
Mrs. Browning was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Garnett "Gene" Browning. She is survived by her sons Tim Browning, Robin "Chris" Browning, both of Lakeland; daughter Joy Browning, Palmetto, FL.; brother Harvey Cook Texarkana, TX.; sisters Florine Wallace, Gillett, AR., Ann Gammon, DeWitt, AR.; 13 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 at 4 p.m. at Ignited Church, Lakeland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice.
