SEBRING - Lois Mae Bagwell, age 75 passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in Sebring from a stroke.
She was born in Leicester, Buncomb County, North Carolina on August 30, 1934 to Fred Jefferson and Thursa Jane (Fender) Wright. She was a homemaker, member of the Pink Ladies, Red Hats Society, Moose Club, Elks and River Greens Golf Course, founder and sponsor of Bagwell Junior Golf Tournament, she was of the Lutheran faith and had been a resident of Avon Park since 1954 coming from Fletcher, North Carolina.
She is survived by her sons-Michael D. Bagwell (Teresa) of Marietta, Georgia and Gary Bagwell (Betsy) of Avon Park, Florida; sisters-Barbara Parris of Avon Park, Florida and Nancy Sumner of Etowah, North Carolina; 5 grandchildren-Dusty, Brandee, David, Brian and Rachel; 3 great grandchildren-Landen, Mason and Baylee. She was preceded in death by her husband-Tommy Bagwell and son-Keith Bagwell, besides her parents she was also preceded in death by brothers James W.(Jim) and William C. (Billy) Wright and Winfred W. Wright; sisters-Angela W. Orr and Freddie W. LaBlanc.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Jahjah officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (1 hour prior to service). Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
