MILDRED E.
(MILLIE) WHITTAKER, 91

LAKELAND - Mildred E. (Millie) Whittaker passed away peacefully at home of heart failure on January 23, 2010. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Millie was born on May 8, 1918, in Watertown, MA, to Raymond J. and Ella M. Green. At an early age she moved to Riverside, RI, where she was raised by her grandparents Frederick M. and Christina Green. On November 2, 1940, she married L. Raymond Whittaker of Riverside, RI.
Millie is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, L. Raymond Whittaker; sons: Paul M. (Hannah) Whittaker of Indianapolis, IN, Stephen R. (Ann) Whittaker of Rochester, NY, and Russell C. (Judy) Whittaker of Whitinsville, MA; ten grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Surviving siblings are Ruth E. Crevier (Riverside, RI) and Raymond J. Green, Jr. (Manhattan Beach, CA). She was predeceased by siblings Robert M. Green, Grace L. Schostag, and Ethel E. Martin.
Millie and Ray retired to Florida in 1976 where they enjoyed many good years of retirement. Their current home has been in Lakeland, FL. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and member of the D.A.R..
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice at 115 S. Missouri Ave., Suite 500, Lakeland, FL 33815 or the American Diabetes Association (through your local chapter).
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
