United States Air Force Retired

LAKELAND - Kenneth N. Miller was born January 31, 1972 in Cleveland, Ohio. He passed from this life surrounded by his family on August 1, 2011 at home in Lakeland, Florida after a long battle with Metastatic Fibromyxoid Sarcoma.
Mr. Miller is a 1990 graduate of Lake Gibson High School in Lakeland, Florida. He participated in the delayed-entry program and entered the United States Air Force shortly after his high school graduation. He served our country stateside and overseas during Desert Storm, with tours of duty to several places including Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, Keflavik, Iceland, and Kunsan AB, South Korea. Mr. Miller was an Aircraft Structural Maintenance Journeyman while in the Air Force. He maintained numerous aircraft including F-15's, F-16's, and Stealth fighters. He was also a member of the American Legion, Post #4 in Lakeland, Florida.
Ken never knew a stranger in his short life on this earth, and always put others needs ahead of his own. Ken loved many things in his lifetime including his family, his 2008 Mustang GT, and his "several times a day" Starbuck's Venti Mocha Frappuccinos.
Ken continued a daily struggle to survive his cancer. When all treatments failed, he made the decision to just "live" with cancer and see his 3 children continue to grow-up. He was so very proud of his children and this was obvious to anyone that knew him. He was a very strong-willed man who lived on pure determination to stay alive to see his family.
Mr. Miller is survived by his loving high school sweetheart, Veronica, to whom he was married to for 19 years. He is also survived by his oldest son, Chance; his daughter Autumn; his youngest son, Kendall; and his parents, Neilson and Ahrea Miller of Livingston, Texas, Suzannah Lee and the late Milton Lee of Mulberry, Florida.
Services will be on Tuesday, August 9th 2011 at Lakeland Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens located at 2125 S. Bartow Hwy, Lakeland Florida, 33801. Visitation will be from 11:30am to 1:00pm, with the Chapel service beginning at 1:00pm. Graveside services to follow with full military honors.
