LAKELAND - Robert Eugene Fisher, 78, of Lakeland, passed away Sunday, Oct. 23 of congestive heart failure.
Robert moved to Lakeland in 1966 from Tenn., and began working for Publix Supermarkets as a truck driver. He retired in 1993 after 27 years. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Audrey; 2 sons, Toney Lee and Terry Dewayne and wife Esther; 2 daughters, Brenda Kay Gulledge and husband Roy, and Debra Lynn Fisher; brother, Marvin Neal Fisher and wife Joyce; sister, Ethel Wallace and husband Clyde; 8 grandchildren, Kimberly, Kari, Cassidy, Jackie, Megan, Crystal, Seamus and Allison; 9 great grandchildren and his closest friend David Joyce. He was preceded by 2 brothers, W.C. Fisher and Henry Lee Fisher; and 3 sisters, Virginia Mai Fisher, Pauline Astin and Dorothy Gregory.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (today) Oct. 26, at 1:00 pm at the Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland with burial to follow at Oak Hill Burial Park.
