WINTER HAVEN - Mr. Scott L. Hedden, 81, of Winter Haven, passed away on October 5, 2012 at the Life Care Center due to cancer.
He was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 28, 1931. He graduated from the Univ. of Toledo, Univ. of Nebraska, and Michigan State Univ. He also served as a corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. He moved to Winter Haven from East Lansing, MI in 1962 and retired after 32 years as an Ag Engineer with the USDA.
He was an active member of the community through First Presbyterian Church, NARFE, and Boy Scouts of America.
He is preceded in death by his parents Margaret and Orve K. Hedden, and his wife, Barbara W. Hedden. He is survived by his wife, Kay Hedden, her two children, Scott Wade, Lakeland, and Karen Williams, Winter Haven, his children, Mark Hedden, CA, and Alison (Jose) Batista, Winter Haven, his grandson, Philip Batista, and his sister Janice (William) Palich, NC.
Services will be at 3 pm on Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Boy Scout Troop 121.
