LAKELAND - Mother Leola Abram was born in Sparta, GA, to the late Prince and Bessie Stephens. She met and married the late Cleveland Abram. They were happily married for 77 years. In 1941, they relocated to Lakeland, Florida where they reared their seven children. She loved the Lord, her family, and the Church. As the eldest member of New Bethel A.M.E. Church, she served faithfully until her health began to fail. She enjoyed baking, cooking, attending church, & fellowshipping with her family & friends. She instilled core values throughout the family including, loving her Heavenly Father, promoting family unity & love for all.
On November 23rd, 2012, this earthly life of Leola Abram ended with her transition to an eternal life that she prepared for at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, due to natural causes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Abram, children, John Wesley Abram, Carlos Abram, & James Abram; and parents, Prince and Bessie Stephens and eleven siblings. She leaves to cherish her memory 4 children, Helen (Earnest) Lamar, Cleveland (Anita) Abram, Charlie (Mama T-Theresa) Abram, and Annie Lois (Ronald) Jarrett & grandson of the Home, Greg Abram; 46 grandchildren, 109 great grandchildren, 63 great great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation is Friday, 6-8 pm at New Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church (2122 MLK Ave., Lakeland). Funeral Service is Saturday, 1 pm at the Church. Funeral Entrusted to: HW Oldham Funeral Home.
