Hal and I were very good friends and golfing buddies years ago, having discovered that he went to high school with my parents in Oswego, NY. Although our paths hadn't crossed in recent years, I would think about our times together and wonder how to find his contact information. Unfortunately, this search confirmed my worse fears. I have many warm (and often funny) remembrances of our times together, and therefore know that his time on Earth lives on in the hearts and minds of his family and those he touched. I will pray for his soul, and feel confident that we may meet again.

We were always excited when we heard you and your brother would be in town. We never missed a time to gather at relative's home to see you. It was always great time had by all. You will be missed!

"Hal Wilson will be remembered here as a "Giver" of himself, his time and his talents. Hal did so as a strong-willed man focused on what he strongly felt was right. For that alone, he will be appreciated by more and more of us as time passes and clear minds prevail. May you rest in God's arms confident you served your fellow-man well Hal."

Sincerely,
Emil J. Stecki

Hal was always a friend--Janet & his two girls are too even tho he was my boss. He was the smartest casualty claims man I ever knew in my insurance 30+ year career! He was gruff & a no nonsense guy but a puppy dog inside with a big heart & always family oriented.

You know I really wish there was an easy way to sum up Hal and what he meant to me but there aren't the words. Suffice it to say that with Hal you always knew where he stood on a subject, be it a case, what's happening in the world or simply the subject of the moment. He was at times gruff but never inappropriate, forceful but never obnoxious about it, understanding and sympathetic but never weak in his dealings with people, and above all straightforward in his thoughts and actions. He was for me a colleague but more importantly a friend. When all is said and done that is what is really important. We come thru this life but once and what we leave behind is an impression that lives on in the minds of the people we touch. For me, I can say that the impression that Hal left behind will always be of a good man. I will miss him.

I had the pleasure of meeting Hal when Frank Goodwin suggested I tag along with him and see what I could pick up 11 short years ago. What I learned from my time and numerous phone conversations with Hal is so great it cannot be measured. I learned a lot about insurance and life from him. Hal knew right from wrong and he had no issues letting you know his feelings when you were wrong of which I frequently was. I will miss those corrections and will miss Hal. Take care old friend and may you be in heaven an hour before the devil knows your dead.

Hal was a very dear friend, co-worker, mentor and I can reflect on some great memories from our nearly 35 years together at Cincinnati Insurance Company. Hal was my first boss when I joined the company and I had the pleasure of being his manager at the end of his career. That transition never caused any conflicts. I will miss Hal and will treasure his memory forever!

Hal was one of the most intelligent people I will ever know. He was a mentor and then a friend. As long as you gave all you could, he never had a harsh word. Sometimes gruff, but still a big teddy bear at heart. I will miss him. Condolences to Jan, Mary Beth and Geneva.

Hal was a special man in my life. We did a lot of bonding on the golf course. He was a big influence in my decision to make that a career. We are all lucky to have so many good people in our family. I know he and Gram are together now, sitting at her kitchen table talking about all of us over a cup of coffee. Thank you for being part of my life. You will be missed.
