HOWARD BENNETT COHN, 82

LAKELAND - Howard Bennett Cohn, born in New York City on August 13, 1930, and passed away January 15, 2013, in Lakeland, from a lengthy battle with cancer. He was married to Ethel Kruger in London, England in 1955.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Ethel, his parents Louis and Yetta Cohn and his grandson David Edward Brannan. He is survived by his loving partner Rhoda Goldsmith, his children Michael Cohn (Julie Tassi) and Sharon Brannan (Ken), his grandchildren Matthew Bran-nan, Jeffrey (Julie) Brannan and Olivia Cohn.
He attended Erasmus High School in New York City and Polk Community College. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Europe during Korean Conflict, and was director of Human Resources at Kraft Foods. He was a former Polk County Deputy Sheriff and the co-owner with Rhoda Goldsmith of Gem Jewelers from 1967 to present. He was a long-time member of Temple Emanuel.
Funeral services at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland, FL, 33803, on Wednesday, January 16 at 3:00 pm. Internment to follow the service at Oak Hill/Temple Emanuel Cemetery.
