DUNDEE- Sid Kennon, 81, of Dundee, Fl. went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2013 after a brief battle with cancer, with his loving family by his side. Sid, formerly of Sedalia, Missouri, received his undergraduate degree in Education from Central Missouri University in 1956. Sid received a Master's degree from CMU and his Specialist degree from Memphis State University.
The family resided in the Panama Canal Zone from 1959-1981 where Sid was both a teacher and a Coach for 38 years. He also taught in the Sedalia, Mo. School system and in Hillsborough County (Plant City) School system. He touched so many lives with his warm heart and gentle spirit.
Sid served in the Army from 1952-1954 and the Reserves for 21 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd C. Kennon and Mary E. (Wilkerson) Kennon; his wife Ann (Bishop) Kennon and son William W. Kennon.
He is survived by his wife Yadira (Miranda) Kennon and sons William A. Kennon, Fletcher (Butch) Kennon, Brian (Bear) Kennon and his wife Lisa, Cecil (Buzzy) Kennon and his wife Cindy; His brother Walter Kennon and his wife Marlene. He also leaves behind a niece and nephew and 10 grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 11:00 am at Winter Haven Baptist Church, 1500 Dundee Rd., Winter Haven, Fl. 33884. Burial service will follow at Florida National Cemetery Bushnell, FL
