LAKELAND - Alma Gallagher Bartoe, age 88, passed away April 27, 2013 from heart failure.
Mrs. Bartoe was born in Dover, Fl. on June 19, 1924 to Lewis & Bessie (Davis) Gallagher. She was known to many people as "Ms. Alma". Mrs. Bartoe was a clerk for Mobil Chemical at Nichols and Ft. Meade plants.
Mrs. Bartoe was formerly involved with the National Secretaries Association, Nichols Credit Union and was an avid bowler, a member of the Church of Christ faith. Mrs. Bartoe moved to Lakeland 10 years ago from retirement at Lake Panasoffkee after living in the Mulberry area most of her life.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother Harley Gallagher. Mrs. Bartoe is survived by her husband of 41 years Don Bartoe, sons Bill (Janie) Whealton, Randy (Helen) Whealton, John Whealton, daughter Yvonne Whealton, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sister Corine Andrews, brothers Wesley Gallagher and Bob Gallagher and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arenson Ave. Auburndale, F1. 33823.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Plant City Church of Christ, 315 N. Wilder Rd, Plant City, Fl. from 1:00-2:30 P.M. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 P.M. Arrangements entrusted to Seigler Funeral Home, Mulberry, Fl.
