LAKELAND- Barbara Jean Mamula-Browne, 67, of Lakeland passed away on her birthday, Friday June 21, 2013 of cancer at LRMC with her family by her side.
She was born in Scranton PA on June 21, 1946. She enjoyed being a school teacher for the majority of her career at Alturas Elementary and Fort Meade High School for 38 years. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Lakeland, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of the Catholic War Veterans, an Emmaus Sister and a member of Couples for Christ. Her passion centered around church activities, visiting and giving communion to the elderly and sick, charity, and time with her family.
Barbara Jean is survived by her husband, Thomas Richard Browne; her three children, Barbara Mamula Beacham of Bartow, Ronald George Mamula, Jr. of Lake Wales, and Bridget Mamula Anderson of Key West; two grandchildren, Mason Lynn Haag and Kristen McGinnis Beacham; her sister Patricia Ann McGinnis Olson. She also has three stepchildren Richard Browne, Alyson Browne Higgins, and Amy Browne Stauffer; eleven step-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at 9:30AM and the memorial services will be held at 10:30AM followed immediately by a reception, Saturday, June 29, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church located at 210 W. Lemon St. Lakeland, FL 33802. The family requests that instead of flowers that Mass card in her name and donations be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
