LAKELAND - Pamela J. Young, age 65, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away after a courageous battle with breast cancer in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the ones she laughed with, lived for and loved, on June 25, 2013.
She was born January 30, 1948 in Steubenville, OH, the daughter of Onel A. Barker and the late Ruth L. Barker. Pam grew up in the Sugar Grove area of Ohio. She graduated from Stanton High School in 1966. After High School she attended West Liberty State College. She was a member of Delta Zeta sorority and received her degree in dental hygiene. She worked at the offices of Dr's Berg and Birong in Carrollton, OH, for over 20 years.
Pam had a kind soul, kindred spirit, and generous heart. She was always giving to others. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids, lounging on the beach and camping with her friends. She had a passion for the music and poetry of Bob Dylan.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her son William Eric (Kelly) Young of DeLand, FL; daughter Danielle (Matthew) Zaitzew of Longmont, Colorado; grandchildren: Matthew Young, Silas and Calla Zaitzew; best friend David Alberts.
Memorial service will be held at Victory Church Chapel, 1401 Griffin Rd, Lakeland FL, 33810 at 11am on Saturday June 29.
