WINTER HAVEN - Vernon Dean Aguirre, 53, passed away on June 29, 2013. Cause is pending.
The family will hold a private memorial service.
Vernon was born in Fort Collins, CO on November 26, 1959. He recently
received his AA degree from Polk State College and had been accepted by
University of Central Florida to study filmmaking. Vernon had already
produced and directed two short films. He was excited about continuing his education in film and was planning to eventually seek a Master's Degree following his B.A. Vernon aspired to produce and direct documentary films, sharing his tremendous vision and passion with those he worked and learned
with. Everyone who knew his work felt that he was a very gifted person.
Vernon was one of only ten transfer students accepted by the UCF Film
School, an achievement he was very proud of. He was an extremely
knowledgeable, caring person. Vernon made friends everywhere he went; he did not know a stranger. Vernon enjoyed every aspect of life and truly saw the beauty of the world. He was an accomplished climber, sailor, photographer and filmmaker, as well as possessing many other talents. He loved his family, and one of the highlights of his life was playing with his two grandchildren.
Vernon is lovingly remembered by his wife, Teresa; his son Balin; stepson Brandon and wife Melissa; grandchildren Ethan and Liam; mother Judy; father Fedrico; and brother Victor, as well as other family and many, many friends. He was an inspiration to many and a purely joyful person. He will be missed tremendously.
Vernon was preceded in death by his brother Todd Aguirre. Donations in
lieu of flowers can be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
