EISEN, M.D., 77
LAKELAND - Miguel Eisen, M.D., 77, of Lakeland, Florida passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at his residence of multiple myeloma.
Born in Havana, Cuba on February 11, 1936, he graduated from Havana Senior High School in 1948 and graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in 1953. He studied at the University of Havana Medical School from 1953 to 1960 and received his M.D. Degree in 1962 from the University of Madrid (Spain). Miguel was Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery in 1972. He became a naturalized U.S. Citizen in 1966, in Tampa, Florida. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the Army and was the General Surgeon at Ft. Dix & Ft. Hood and was a commissioned Lieutenant Colonel. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with V device for Heroism in Ground Combat.
Miguel worked as a surgeon in medicine from 1971 until his retirement in 2009, from The Occupational Health Center, Inc. He was also a volunteer at Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine.
Miguel is survived by his wife, Jane Eisen and three children, Michelle Danker, Michael Eisen and Matthew Eisen; brother, Manola Eisen and sister-in-law, Mariam Eisen; two step-children, Beverly and Clarence, Jr.; and three grandchildren, Peyton, Campbell and Trenton.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 5, 2013, at 10 a.m., at Highlands Church of God located at 2045 E. County Road 540A, Lakeland, FL 33813. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at 2:30 p.m., on Monday.
