AUBURNDALE - Kenneth Nash Schulz was born Winter Haven, Florida in 1929, and passed away October 27, 2013 from complications of a stroke.
He was a 1st Lt. United States Army, Artillery from 1952-1954. He was President of the Winter Haven Jaycees from 1956-1957 and President of the Winter Haven Rotary Club from 1967-1968. He was a Commissioner for the City of Winter Haven, FL 1968-1970, and Mayor of the City of Winter Haven, Fl 1970-1975. He was awarded the Bankers Cup, Man of Year, Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce 1973. He was a Trustee at Beymer United Methodist Church 1972-1975, and Director of the Exchange National Bank of North Winter Haven 1972-1976. He served on the Advisory Board at Southeast Bank of Winter Haven from 1976-1977, and was Governor of the Florida American Nursery Association from 1976-1977. He was Director of the Exchange National Bank of Polk County from 1976-1982, and Director of the Heart of Florida Girl Scouts from 1977-1980. He was President of the Polk County Association of Chamber of Commerce from 1977-1978, and Campaign Chairman of Lake Region United Way 1977. He also was President of the Lake Region United Way from 1978-1979 and an Advisor for the Gulf Ridge Council Boy Scouts from 1973-1982. Mr. Schulz served on the Advisory Board of the NCNB of Winter Haven from 1988-1983, the Advisory Board of First Florida Bank of Winter Haven from 1988-1990, the Advisory Board of First Florida Bank of Polk County from 1990-1994, and the Advisory Board in Florida of Liberty Mutual Insurance from 1988-2000. He was Owner, Operator of the Polk Nursery Company, Inc. from 1956-2011.
