LAKELAND - Raymond H. "Ray" Bauschke, 89, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 9, 2014, as a result of complications of Alzheimer's disease.
Mr. Bauschke was born May 19, 1924 in East Grand Rapids, MI to the late Harvey and Amanda Bauschke. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army where he served during WWII. Mr. Bauschke was a produce buyer for the A&P Tea Company for 44 years. He was transferred to the Lakeland office from Stevensville, MI in 1978. Mr. Bauschke and his family were members of the Highland Park Church of the Nazarene for over 30 years.
Mr. Bauschke is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Berniece Bauschke; daughters, Sharon Shaw, Gale Cruickshank and her husband, Randy and Raya Bauer and her husband, Ken; brothers, Harold "Hal" Bauschke and his wife, Rose and Gordon Bauschke and his wife, Wilma; grandsons, Cory Schmidke and Jeremy Hughes; granddaughter, Cayla Wiens and her husband, Colin; and many other loving family members and devoted friends.
Mr. Bauschke's family will receive friends Saturday, January 11, 2014, from 10-11am at Highland Park Church of the Nazarene at 4777 Lakeland Highlands Road in Lakeland. A celebration of Mr. Bauschke's life will follow at 11am. Entombment will be conducted at Lakeland Memorial Gardens. The Bauschke family requests that donations be made to Highland Park Church of the Nazarene or Good Shepherd Hospice at 320 W. Main Street, Lakeland, FL 33815.
