NOVOTA, 94

WINTER HAVEN - Edward R. Novota, formerly of Oak Brook, Illinois passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Sterling House Assisted Living Center with his daughter Crystal at his side after a long battle with dementia.
Edward was born in Cicero, Illinois on August 7, 1919, son of the late Otto and Christine (Malarik) Novota and brother, Dr. Otto Novota preceded him in death as well. Edward proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Army Air Corps. He has been a lifetime member of the VFW, Lakeland. He retired to Winter Haven, Florida in 1986 with his late wife, Gertrude (Slifka) Novota.
Edward is survived by his beloved daughter Crystal (Novota) Wind and son-in-law Dennis Wind, grandchildren Nicki Lovins (Tim) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Abby Blum of Lake Wales, Florida, and James E. Schiller (Sylvia) of Harwood Heights, IL, and great-grandchildren, Lily, Chloee, Emmy, Isaiah, Tabitha and Joshua and many nieces and nephews.
A gathering of friends will be held at 3 pm, services at 4 pm, Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 645 West Central Avenue, Winter Haven. Pastor Timothy Williams will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the .
