LAKELAND - Mr. Roy John Lien, 78, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 at LRMC due to heart failure.
He was born August 21, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John and Ellen Lien. Roy proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and Civil Service for more than 40 years. Mr. Lien was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. His nature was loving and giving, His heart was made pure gold, And to us who truly loved him, His memory will never grow old.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith M. Lien; daughter, Judith D. Mallonee; and a son, Wayne A. Cobb. Survivors include his wife, Maxine Lien; daughters, Debra L. Damron of Lakeland, FL, Janine D. Willetts of Winnabow, NC, Georgia E. Sanderson of Kinston, NC and Sonya N. Lien of Richlands, NC; sons, Gary A. Cobb of Winsten Salem, NC and James B. Lien of Jacksonville, NC; brother, Don Lien of Salt Lake City, Utah; 20 grandchildren and numerous great- grandchildren.
The visitation will be Thursday from 10-11 AM at the Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens (3350 Mall Hill Drive). Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home chapel.
