FERNANDO CANCHE JR. ALAMO - Fernando Canche, Jr., 85, passed away Sunday July 28, 2013 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. He was a veteran of the Korean War and he was with the Sea Bee Reserves. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sofia Canche. He is survived by his children, Israel (Juanita) Canche, Norma (Efrine) Flores, and Xavier (Melinda) Canche; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Rodolfo, Arnoldo, and Hector Canche; and sisters, Amelia Ayala, Lilly Farias, Idalia Canche, Enriqueta Vasquez, and Idanela Rivera. Visitation will be from 12noon to 9pm with a 7pm rosary today July 30, 2013 at De Leon Funeral Home in Pharr. Funeral Mass will be at 10am on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. I enjoyed talking with Senor Canche many times in the mid 1980's through the mid 1990's when I lived in Alamo. Then I worked with his son Israel for a few years around 2000. A good family. May the Lord bring peace and comfort to you all.
