MANUEL F. "TICO" LOPEZ(1924 - 2013)

MANUEL F. "TICO" LOPEZ McALLEN - Manuel F. "Tico" Lopez, 89, went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2013, at Solara Hospital in McAllen. He was born on August 26, 1924 in McAllen. He served in the Army during WWII in Germany, and after the war, he returned to McAllen and worked as a bus driver for VTC. He also owned and operated Lopez Central Barber Shop. After he retired, he proudly worked at Tico's Mexican Restaurant (named after him) with his son. He was preceded in death by his parents Cayetano and Maria Lopez; wife Rosa V. Lopez; son Hector Ruben Lopez. He is survived by his children Manuel (Laura) Lopez of McAllen, Delia (Elias) Bazan Jr., of Mission, Ofelia (Benny) Cano of Harlingen, Diana Lopez of Mission, Irma L. Guerra of Pharr. He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Orlando Lopez, Elias Bazan III, Benancio Cano Jr., Ruben Lopez Jr., Robert Ysaquirre III, Arturo S. Diaz Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sergio Lopez, Aaron Lopez, Gabriel Lopez, Steve Bazan, Eddie Ysaquirre, Richard Ysaquirre, Robert L. Diaz. Visitation will be held today, Friday, December 20, 2013, from 3-9 with a 7pm prayer service at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 21, 2013, at 1pm at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. Burial will be at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen.
