ANITA TRIGO Obituary
McAllen - Anita L. Trigo 101 years old, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She loved caring for her family and pets, cooking delicious meals, and working in her garden. Her charismatic smile and personality attracted many long-lasting friends. She was a devout Christian praying the rosary nightly. Anita has left her family with a lifetime of wonderful memories and will be greatly missed.
Anita was born on July 26,1909 in Kingsville, Texas to Guadalupe Leal and Olavia Carrera In 1927, she moved with her family to Rio Grande City, Texas where her paternal grandparents Policarpio Leal and Margarita Barrera and Maternal grandparents Odilon Carrera and Gabriela Abrego had family roots dating back to the establishment of the Escandon Settlements in the 1750's. Anita met and married the love of her life Procacio (Pete) Trigo in 1929; they were married fifty years..
Anita is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Procacio (Pete) Trigo, five children: Nabor, Juan, Raquel, San Juanita, and Protacio (Pete) Trigo; Siblings, Procopio Leal, Rodolfo Leal, Raul Leal, Baldemar Leal, and Margarita Leal Smyth.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Roel Trigo (Estela) and Norma Billescas (Ramon); daughter-in-law Judy Trigo; grandchildren: Hilda Billescas, Cynthia Billescas, Nelda Billescas (the apple of her eye), David Billescas, and Michael Billescas (Candy), Derek Trigo, Deena Trigo (Ismael Herrera), Myles Trigo (Kelly), and Holly Dinwiddie (Charles); her great grandchildren: Evette Trigo, Ashlyn Trigo, Marissa Breece, Elijah Trevino, Noah Trevino, Jon Vargas, Michael Vargas, Zachariah Carey, Jacob Trigo, Kathleen Trigo, Isaac Trigo, Margaret Trigo, Colin Dinwiddie, and Chloe Dinwiddie; great-great grandchildren: S'vani Vargas, Serina Vargas, Isaiah Vargas, Ariah Vargas, and Angelo Vargas. Also surviving Anita is her beloved sister Celia Leal Aguilar and numerous nieces and nephews.
Special thanks go to her caregivers Vonnette Ramirez, Martina Olandez, Rosa Pena, Sylvia Bermudez, Manuela Hinojosa, Amelia Cantu, Hospice nurse Celia Montoya; also to Dr. Brian Glazer and Staff and Dr. Tin Quack.
Pallbearers will be Derek Trigo, Michael Billescas, David Billescas, Jon Vargas, Marko Trigo, and Elias Aguilar. Visitation will be held Friday, April 1, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel 3611 N. Taylor Rd in Mission, Texas from 5:00pm – 9:00pm with a 7:00pm rosary. Chapel Service will be held Saturday April 2, 2011 at 1:00pm Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McAllen. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Garden.
