1926 - 2015 Obituary Condolences
DOROTHY KING Dorothy King passed away peacefully July 8, 2015 at the home of her daughter Becky Goldsmith. She was born June 30, 1926 in Sweetwater, Texas. Dorothy loved music, playing the piano, the flute, and singing. She attended Stephens College in Missouri where she graduated. To further study music she attended the University of Texas in Austin where she sang opera. Her brother Clifton Perkins was president of the Inter Fraternity Council and introduced her to the love of her life Neal King with whom they had five children. Once settled in Mission she became involved in community affairs including PTA, PEO which promotes charity work in the community, and many church functions including singing in the church choir. She had a special place in heart for the Texas Citrus Fiesta where she volunteered for 40 years. Dorothy assisted her husband Neal with his charity work and taught her children by her excellent example.
