It is a great lost to future children in music and to every one that knew him. Mr. Parkhill was a great man and a great teacher. He was devoted to his students and profession. Mr. Parkhill was my Band Instructor at the Six Grade Campus and was for 3 years and was as well for my two younger brothers. He has been a part of our family for a while. He inspired music, practice and laughter in our lives. It was a shock and huge hit for me when I heard of his death. I will always remember the man who introduced me to music, reading notes, practicing my instrument, making jokes, and having fun in band. Thank you Mr. Parkhill!

I only knew you as a member of the "Zone", but am saddened by the news. You treated folks with respect, even the ones that didn't deserve it, and in doing so showed your true colors. Hopefully you will get to watch the rest of the games in the best seat in the house...right next to the owner of course!

I wish to extend my condolences to the family. I only knew Weldon anonymously through a Cowboys fan website. He enriched my life, and for that I am grateful.

At the end of the day, I think the best we can do in life is to be able to say we were happy and that we made the world a better place for others. I believe for Weldon the former was true; I know that Weldon made the latter true. He will be missed.

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.

God has taken a great music Teacher from his beloved Family and Harwell Middle School. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke he would throw words combing them into a joking phase. He had a serious look in his eyes, but behind this look he was hiding a happy, good, lucky Man.
For many years he held a Perfect Attendance Record and I will always remember him with his favorite Blue Jean Jacket and now I come to think, Maybe, he was a born Cowboy,in his earlier years.

My condolences to the family. Mr. Parkhill was indeed a GREAT teacher and he touched the lives of so many students throughout the years. I was privileged to have him as my band director in 1978-80 in Weslaco High. What I remember most and admire about him is he taught his students to love music, work as a team and to become leaders in the band and within the school. He allowed us to activily participate in the leadership of the band. He always had a smile for his students.
