E.H. "BUTCH" DERR
E.H. "Butch" Derr passed away Monday, October 17, 2011, at the age of 69. He is survived by his son John Derr, Sr., daughter-in-law Samantha, grandchildren Christina, John Jr., Victoria, Katherine and one great-grandson Grayson. He is also survived by his sisters Kay Sheldon and Virginia Fromlath and brother-in-law Gary Fromlath. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Lillie Derr.
He was a graduate of PSJA High School. Butch joined the McAllen Fire Department in 1965, becoming Fire Chief in 1976, and retired in 2000.
While serving the city of McAllen he was a member of several state fire related committees and was a past member of the McAllen Rotary South Club and a McAllen Greeter.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 19th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen. Graveside services will be Thursday, October 20th at 10:00 AM at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen.
