GEORGE "JORGE" MARTINEZ
SAN JUAN - George "Jorge" Martinez, 54, died Thursday, August 12, 2010 in San Juan.
 Mr. Martinez was born in San Juan and had lived there all of his life. 
 He is preceded in death by his father, Juan Martinez.
 Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Cecilia Cardenas of San Juan; five sons, George L. Martinez of Live Oak, Texas, Juan Luis Martinez, Javier Daniel Martinez, Isaac Jeremy Martinez, Michael Anthony Martinez, all of San Juan; a daughter, Rebecca Marie Martinez of McAllen; a granddaughter, Ella Rose Martinez; his mother, Gloria V. Martinez of McAllen; two brothers, Juan Martinez, Jr. of Pharr, Jose Arturo Martinez of McAllen; and three sisters, Gloria Martinez , Angie Valdez, both of McAllen and Rosa Julia Martinez of San Juan.
 Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm prayer service, today, August 15, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.  Cremation will take place at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
 Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.

MARIA ARMANDINA CISNEROS

PHARR - Maria Armandina Cisneros 82, passed away Friday, 8/13/10 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Pharr and worked in a family mercantile store and later became librarian at Austin Middle School with the PSJA School District.  She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Pedro Cisneros, a sister, Maria de Jesus (Gila) Rodriguez, and her brother, Ramiro Martinez. She is survived by two sisters, Ernestina Ramirez of San Juan and Evangelina Ruiz (Liborio) of Galveston, a brother-in-law, Paul Rodriguez and many nieces and nephews.
Armandina (Chachi) is proudly remembered by her family as a person close to Jesus and His Blessed Mother.  As an adventurous traveler of the world, Armandina stressed the importance of education and the need for all of us to be responsible and productive citizens.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 on Sun.,8/15 at Kreidler Funeral Home with a rosary at 7:00. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Mon, 8/16 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in McAllen.
Interment will be at Valley Memorial Gardens on Taylor Rd.
