JUAN DAVID "JD" GARZA|
MISSION - Juan David "JD" Garza, 47, died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Hebbronville, JD was currently living in Mission. He was formerly of San Juan and Pharr and was a 1983 graduate of P-SJ-A High School. JD attended Little Rock Missionary Baptist Seminary for five years and then served as pastor of Brownsville Baptist Church from 1995 to 2008. He then became pastor at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in San Antonio from 2009 to 2012.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Juan and Manuela Garza, maternal grandparents, Magdaleno and Inocencia Luna; and an aunt, Josefina Garza.
JD is survived by his wife, Marisol Garza; six children, Seth, Samuel, Sean, Stuart, Shay and Sophia Garza; his parents, Juan Jr. and Teresa Garza, all of Mission; a brother, Edward Garza, of San Juan; and two sisters, Rebecca "Becky" Garza, Julie Ann Estrada, both of San Antonio.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, May 8, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
