FRANCISCO CAVAZOS Obituary
ALTON - Francisco Cavazos, 42, left to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Doctor's Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. He was born to Benito Cavazos and Celia Cadena in Edmore, Michigan on May 29, 1969. He is preceded in death by his mother. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Joaquina Cavazos; children, Amanda Joyce Cavazos; Francisco Cavazos, Jr. and Celia Elida Cavazos. Survivors also include his father, Benito Cavazos, siblings, Angie Cavazos; Esther (John) Valles; Eva (Ruben) Gutierrez; Benito (Alicia) Cavazos; Elena (Narciso) Ortega; Estefana (Ramiro) Barco; Amado Cavazos; Herlinda (Juan) Hinojosa, father-in-law, Guadalupe Lechuga and mother in law, Ana Elida Lechuga. He will be greatly missed by numerous nephews and nieces. Family will receive friends today, July 5, 2011 from 2 pm to 9 pm with a rosary recited at 7 pm at Virgil Wilson Memorial Chapel in Mission. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 10 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Frank what can I say, you were always there for me and Amanda. You were always that father that I would think to myself man He is such a great loving,caring, father I always wanted. I've had to work most Sundays, and at times my work was rough, and
sometimes I've been violent. Because inside the walls are awful tough.
But I never took a penny, that wasn't mine to keep, I worked a lot of overtime,
when the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help, though at times I shook with fear, and
sometimes, God forgive me, I wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted
me around except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected
or had too much, but if you don't I will understand."
There was silence all around the Throne, where the Saints often trod. As
the Correctional Officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Correctional Officer, you've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets, you've done your time in Hell."
