JOSE JUAN "JOE" MARTINEZ Photos=JoseJuan(Joe)Martinez1.jpg> McALLEN – Jose Juan "Joe" Martinez, 49, went to join our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, February 28, 2014. Joe was born and raised in McAllen. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1983. He recently moved back to the valley after 21 years, having resided the last 9 years in Seattle. He was an avid sports fan and a diehard Dallas Cowboys and Texas A&M fan. He loved reading books, watching documentaries and going to the movies. He is preceded in death by his mother, Maria del Socorro Martinez. He is survived by siblings: Miguel (Hilda) Martinez, Esther (Ramon) Roque, Alfonso (Sofia) Martinez, Gabriel Martinez, Francisco Martinez, Ernesto Martinez, Gerardo (Anita) Martinez, Teresa Martinez, Socorro Martinez and David Martinez. He is also survived by 20 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. with a 7pm Rosary today, Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. Funeral mass will take place at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in downtown McAllen. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen.
