ROBERT CLAYTON DUVALL Robert Clayton Duvall, 93, passed away March 4, 2014 at the Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Nursing Home in McAllen, TX. He was born to Virg and Alpharetta Duvall on May 20, 1920 near Miller, MO. Robert was a WWII veteran, a member of the 10th Mountain Division, serving in Italy. After the war, he continued his career in education. He retired in 1984 after 32 years as a teacher and principal in several schools in Southwest Missouri. He was a communicant of Grace Episcopal Church in Carthage, MO. After retirement, Robert and wife Linda travelled throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada. They enjoyed several cruises with wonderful friends. In 2002, Alamo Country Club in Alamo, Texas became their permanent home. Robert enjoyed fishing, dancing, bowling and took up golf at age 70. Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia; daughters Vera and Betty; brother Barney and sister Prudence. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Linda; daughters Judy, Roberta, Lori and Lacy; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Robert's Life will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 3 PM in the clubhouse of Alamo Country Club in Alamo, Texas. "Teachers affect eternity.
