ARMANDINA G. CORTEZ McALLEN - Armandina G. Cortez, 91, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Amara Hospice in Edinburg. Born in Sal Colorada, Texas, Mrs. Cortez was a homemaker, loving wife of 52 years to Hernan Cortez who precedes her in death, an adoring mother to her children. Mrs. Cortez is survived by her three daughters Janie (Xavier) Garcia of Pharr, Mary (Joe) Vasquez of San Juan and Norma (Arturo) Munoz of Austin; her son Antonio Esteban "Tony" (Stephanie) Cortez of San Antonio; daughter-in-law Norma Leticia Cortez of McAllen; a sister Alicia Casas; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hernan Cortez, Sr. and her son, Hernan Cortez, Jr.; two brothers Trinidad and Antonio Garcia and sisters, Guadalupe Renteria and Petra Saenz. Visitations will begin today, Sunday May 18, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary being recited at Ceballos Funeral Home of McAllen. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church of McAllen. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission. Funeral arrangements and services were entrusted to the care of Ceballos Funeral Home of McAllen.
