HERMINIA GUERRA CANTU Obituary
HERMINIA GUERRA CANTU Mrs. Herminia Guerra Cantu, entered into eternal rest on Thursday August 7, 2014. She was a devoted mother, sister, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born April 26, 1929 in Havanna, Texas. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St.Joseph Catholic Church in Donna. She was a devoted member of the Guadalupanas where she served as treasurer. She volunteered in reciting rosaries at several funeral homes and delivered communion to those who could not attend church. She guided and inspired hundreds of students in her 31 years of teaching in Donna schools. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Fred E. Cantu, mother, Concepcion Araiza Guerra; father, Vidal Guerra; brother, Jose Salvador Guerra. She is survived by her two daughters; Noemi A.Balli(Reynaldo Jr.) of Donna, Beverly Quintanilla(Monico) of Alamo, three sons, Fred E. Cantu Jr. (Luisa) of Abilene Texas, David Cantu of Oklahoma, and Richard Cantu of Florida, and 12 grand children and 2 great-grand children. Visitation will be today, Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary. Funeral mass will be Monday, August 11, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Anthony Quintanilla, Reynaldo Balli III, Christopher James Balli, Aaron Cantu, Kevin Cantu, Daniel Cantu; honorary pallbearer will be Fred E.Cantu III.
