Barrera.  He is survived by four sisters, Ana Maria (Derly) Ramirez of Rio Grande City, Guadalupe "Lupita" (Emanuel) Valenciano of Houston, Maria de los Angeles (John J.) Tia Mario; my thoughts, prayers and great admiration still prevails for you, and family. Not a day passes where I still see a fence, a set of pens or a watering system that you built. And build it exceptionally well. I know you are still ranching with the LORD and teaching those among you, the great ranching skills you possessed. GOD bless you and thanks for leaving things behind that inspires us semi-young cowboys. Your sobrino.

AGUA NUEVA RANCH

To Tio Mario's family:

What a great loss for all of us from Agua Nueva; our ranch dating back to the 1700's. I am the son of Antioco and Ricardita (Ramirez) Gonzalez; daughter of Don Pedro and Rita Ramirez. I had the pleasure of visiting Tio Mario at the nursing home twice in the last couple of years. But this is how I remember him. As a young kid (Age 5-12), I was assigned by my dad to go with Tio Mario and open the gates for him. It was always a pleasure seeing and being with a respectable, hard working handsome of a man. My father always spoke so well of him, that in later years I inquired about his whereabouts so I could see him. GOD granted me the opportunity to talk to him and share a story or two. May GOD bless his wonderful family; and if you are ever in Agua Nueva, I own the white house with red trim on the East side of the road. Any and all my family (all of Tio Mario's family) are always welcome to come for a visit. May GOD bless all of you and hope to see you at the services.
