MANUEL S. RODRIGUEZ
WESLACO - Manuel S. Rodriguez passed away at the age of 75 on April, 28, 2012 in Weslaco, TX.
He was born on June 15, 1936 in Roma, Texas to Librado Rodriguez and Gregoria Salinas.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Gustavo Rodriguez, Amador Rodriguez, Noe Rodriguez, Amadeo Rodriguez, and Aurora Montano and 2 children Manuel Rodriguez Jr. and Sylvia Rodriguez.
Mr. Rodriguez is survived by his spouse Avelina Rodriguez, son's Javier Rodriguez and Ismael Rodriguez, grandchildren Yram Llanas, Yesenia Rodriguez, Giselle Rodriguez, Ismael Rodriguez II, Karina Rodriguez, Celeste Rodriguez, and Gabriel Manuel Rodriguez, and great-grandchild Kaleah Nevae Rodriguez. His two Daughter's-In-Law are Elia Rodriguez and Thelma Rodriguez.
Mr. Rodriguez married Avelina Rivera of Weslaco, Texas on July 1956 and they were married for 55 years. Mr. Rodriguez volunteered to serve his country in the Korean War as a member of the Marine Corp 1st Division and was honorably discharged. He established the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10464 of Weslaco, Texas. Mr. Rodriguez was for the most part self-employed with certification in air conditioning and refrigeration, and worked at the Weslaco ISD in the same capacity. Mr. Rodriguez lived during his life in El Salineno, Texas, Corpus Christi, Texas and Weslaco, Texas.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from 10:00am-9:00p. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home in Weslaco. Funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 10 a.m. at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Weslaco City Cemetery.
